Hi, I’m the Multitasking Millennial!
Like so many of my generation, I feel adrift. Constantly told I could (and should) “reach for the stars,” I’m now in my early 30s and feel trapped by late capitalism and its 8-to-5 slog. I’ve got more hobbies (and accompanying sidehustles) than you can shake a stick at, but the 40-hour workweek leaves me too exhausted to create anything meaningful. Add to this a hefty dash of anxiety and suspected, long-undiagnosed ADHD, and you’ve got a great recipe for…me!
This blog is an exploration of the Gordian knot of how to escape the rat race without sacrificing my health or sanity.
The prevailing advice for bloggers is to niche down, but that’s not how my brain works. Consequently, you will find no ultra-specialized branding here, just musings on subjects that either worry or delight me. Here, I can say the things that get me blank stares or concerned looks in my daily life: things like, “capitalism threatens my mental health” and “I want to retire early because the grind makes me unfathomably miserable.” I can take a frank look at the harebrained side hustles I’ve tried over the years, spurred by the promise of easy riches (as told by various YouTube influencers). And here, I can hurl recommendations out into the ether when I find something—whatever it is—that I particularly like.
I am a trash panda; behold, my trash heap. I hope you find something useful.
